We Are Thrilled to Announce Two Brand-New Games: Storm Spin and Storm Bet

Today is a big day for us. We are incredibly happy to unveil two brand-new games built right into WeatherBot — Storm Spin, a weather-themed lightning roulette, and Storm Bet, a real-weather prediction market for the world's cities. Both are live right now in free beta, both are provably fair, and both bring a whole new way to play the weather to the platform you already know.

For two years WeatherBot has done one thing well: read the sky better than the market and trade that edge for you. All the while, our community kept asking the same question — can we play the weather ourselves, just for fun? Today the answer is finally yes. Please meet the two newest members of the WeatherBot family.

A quick, honest note: free beta only, no real money yet

Before anything else, the important part. Storm Spin and Storm Bet are in beta, and you cannot play them with real money yet. Every game today runs on free Storm Credits that carry no cash value. We want you to enjoy them, stress-test them, and tell us what you love — while we take care of the serious work behind the scenes.

So why no real money yet? Because these games are different from our trading bot in one crucial way. When the bot trades for you, the orders are placed on Polymarket — a regulated venue we simply connect to — so no gambling licence is required on our side. Storm Spin and Storm Bet are different: the wagers happen on WeatherBot itself. That makes us the operator, and running real-money games responsibly requires a proper gambling licence. We are actively pursuing that licence right now, and we will not switch on real-money play until it is in hand. Doing this the right way matters far more to us than doing it fast.

How Storm Spin works

Storm Spin is roulette, reimagined for the sky. A wheel is divided into weather pockets — Sunny, Cloudy, Rain, Fog, Storm, Snow and Clear. You place your chips on the outcomes you fancy, or on simple groups like Wet Sky and Dry Sky, then pull the lever. Before every spin, lightning strikes a couple of pockets at random and supercharges them with a bonus multiplier. If the wheel lands on a pocket you backed, you win — and if that pocket was struck by lightning, your payout is multiplied. It is fast, bright, and unmistakably casino.

How Storm Bet works

Storm Bet is where the weather gets real. Each day we open a market on tomorrow's actual weather in a real city — London and Hong Kong are live now, with more on the way. You bet YES on the outcome you expect: rain, sun, storm, and so on. The odds are not invented by us — they are set by the live professional forecast, so a likely outcome pays a little and a long shot pays a lot. Every day, two outcomes are charged with lightning for a boosted payout. Then we wait: when tomorrow arrives, the market settles against the real, observed weather. You are not betting against a machine — you are betting on the sky itself.

Provably fair — and you can check it yourself

We believe a fair game should let you verify the fairness, not just trust it. Every Storm Spin result is provably fair: the outcome is generated from a secret server seed combined with your own client seed and a spin counter, then sealed with a cryptographic hash. Because that hash is published, we cannot change the result after you bet — the math simply would not add up.

Try it yourself. Open Storm Spin, take a spin, then click the provably fair link at the bottom of the page. Your browser console will print the server seed, your client seed, the spin number and the resulting outcome — everything you need to re-compute the result by hand and confirm the wheel was never rigged.

What comes next — and why we are so excited

The early response from our community has been incredible, and honestly it has caught us off guard. Players cannot stop spinning — but it is Storm Bet that has lit the biggest spark. The idea of betting on the genuine, observed weather of a real city, with honest forecast-driven odds, is something nobody else offers, and our users have made it very clear that they want much more of it. We genuinely expect Storm Bet to be a major breakthrough for the platform.

So consider this the opening round. More cities are coming to Storm Bet, more ways to play are coming to Storm Spin, and the moment our licence is secured we will open the door to real-money play for everyone who wants it. Until then the credits are free, the games are live, and we would love for you to jump in.

Storm Spin and Storm Bet are play-money games offered for entertainment during beta. Storm Credits have no monetary value, no purchase is possible, and no real-money wagering is available. Real-money play will launch only where and when we are properly licensed. Please play responsibly.
